Tieto, a Finnish software and technology firm, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to enhance the adoption of artificial intelligence across its client base and internal processes.
This partnership encompasses various initiatives, including collaborative sales of AI solutions to targeted customers, joint demonstrations of AI technologies, and the development of skills and certifications related to Microsoft’s AI platforms. Improvements in software development efficiency will also be a key focus, alongside advancing AI integration within Tieto’s own operations.
One of the initial projects stemming from this alliance aims to refine the roadmap for Tieto’s Tech Consulting, prioritizing agentic transformation and engineering productivity. A pivotal component of this initiative is an extensive training program designed to upskill 5,000 consultants in the latest Microsoft AI technologies.
Endre Rangnes, CEO of Tieto, remarked, “Microsoft is a leading technology player that aligns well with our customers’ goals to progress their AI transformations sustainably. The Tieto-Microsoft partnership will act as a significant catalyst, turning customer AI concepts into fully operational use cases, delivering real value. This presents a triple win for our clientele, Microsoft, and Tieto.”
This agreement merges Tieto’s substantial customer relationships and specialized industry knowledge, derived from its focused software divisions such as Tieto Caretech, Tieto Banktech, and Tieto Indtech, with Microsoft’s expansive AI platform capabilities.
With a workforce of approximately 14,000 professionals engaged in vertical software, design, cloud, and AI sectors, Tieto reports an annual revenue of around €2 billion. The company is publicly traded on the NASDAQ exchanges in Helsinki and Stockholm, as well as on Oslo Børs.
Mark Chaban, Corporate Vice President of Commercial Cloud Solutions for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Microsoft, stated, “AI is transforming how organizations derive value, reshaping productivity, innovation, and competitiveness.”
“Through our collaboration with Tieto, we are integrating in-depth industry insights and customer comprehension with Microsoft’s AI platform, facilitating organizations’ transition from experimentation to substantial outcomes. Together, we are enabling customers to translate aspiration into secure, scalable, and measurable business results with agentic AI.”
