Nexi, a prominent European payment technology firm, has announced a strategic alliance with Visa, a leading global payments technology company, to enhance managed card issuing solutions in Germany. The partnership aims to assist banks in modernizing their card issuance processes.
As part of this long-term agreement, Nexi will provide comprehensive managed issuing products, granting banks access to Visa’s complete array of card offerings. This collaboration is expected to streamline deployment times, facilitate continuous product innovation, and enrich the overall customer experience.
The approach being implemented is a fully managed product model, previously adopted in Italy. Under this model, Nexi will handle all aspects of contemporary payment product complexities, including implementation, operational management, regulatory compliance, and ongoing development. This allows banks to concentrate on distinct offerings and enhancing customer engagement.
Branded as Nexi Ready, the new service is tailored to enable German banks to launch card products without introducing operational difficulties or reallocating internal resources. The service encompasses various targeted initiatives, such as premium cards for affluent customers, business and SME cards integrated with management tools, and digital-first solutions aimed at younger clients with simple onboarding processes.
Christian Segersven, co-lead of Nexi’s issuing business, stated, “This collaboration with Visa will catalyze a significant transformation in the support mechanisms available to issuers in Germany from third-party specialists like Nexi.”
