St. Gallen Launches Online Startup Portal to Streamline Business Registration
The canton of St. Gallen has introduced a new online platform called Startup-Guide, designed to simplify the process of launching a business and navigating the associated requirements. This initiative marks a significant step towards digitalizing the entrepreneurial landscape in the region.
Comprehensive Online Business Registration
With the Startup-Guide, business founders can now complete their business registration and manage updates to the commercial register entirely online. This user-friendly platform is equipped with a variety of free tools and advisory services to aid entrepreneurs in effective planning and execution.
Resources for Business Development
The Startup-Guide offers invaluable resources for entrepreneurs, including templates, examples, and practical advice for reviewing business models and crafting business plans. Users will have easy access to information that reflects the vibrant cantonal startup ecosystem and its associated events.
Digital Training Services at Your Fingertips
The core feature of the Startup-Guide is its digital training service, which allows founders to complete all essential steps for business registration online. The service prepares necessary documents in compliance with legal standards, enabling users to sign them digitally.
Simplifying Legal Requirements
One of the game-changing aspects of the Startup-Guide is the elimination of traditional barriers, such as the need to visit a notary or municipal office. Entrepreneurs can now conveniently manage updates to their commercial registrations online, streamlining the entire process and removing unnecessary hurdles.
“The Startup Guide marks an important step in the implementation of St. Gallen’s startup support strategy.”
Supporting Innovation and Business Growth
The government of St. Gallen views this digital service as a vital component of its broader efforts to enhance the innovation and business ecosystem within the canton. The portal was developed in collaboration with the IFJ Institut für Jungunternehmen and complements existing startup advisory services located in Buchs, Rapperswil-Jona, and St. Gallen.
A Vision for Future Development
In its quest to establish itself as an innovation hub, St. Gallen aims to connect education, research, and industry effectively. This ambition is evidenced by ongoing initiatives that support SME innovation and the creation of educational facilities, such as a new vocational and continuing education center in Rapperswil-Jona and the Campus Platztor at the University of St. Gallen.
In conjunction with SECO and the cantons of Lucerne and Zurich, the Office of Commercial Registers and Notaries is also working to develop a unified portal for all commercial register services, aiming to further streamline processes for businesses across Switzerland.
