UNF Partners with Jacksonville to Launch JAX Hub for Fintech Innovation
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The University of North Florida (UNF) has collaborated with the City of Jacksonville, Paysafe, and L Marks to introduce a groundbreaking initiative called JAX Hub. This new program aims to stimulate innovation and foster collaboration within the rapidly evolving fintech industry.
About Paysafe and L Marks
Paysafe, a leading payment platform, and L Marks, a renowned global leader in business innovation, are both headquartered in the United Kingdom. Their combined expertise is set to play a vital role in the success of the JAX Hub initiative.
Connecting Startups and Talent
JAX Hub’s primary goal is to bridge the gap between innovative startups and established companies. The initiative will also engage UNF’s talented graduate students, offering them a unique opportunity to participate in real-world business challenges and solutions.
A Unique Innovation Lab Experience
Spanning 10 weeks, the JAX Hub program resembles a blend of an “innovation lab” and “Shark Tank.” This innovative model allows startups and students to showcase their new ideas and business models, presenting their solutions directly to leaders in both industry and academia.
Student Involvement and Support
The Coggin College of Business at UNF will provide essential expertise and applied research support through its graduate students. Participants from programs in financial technology, business analytics, accounting, and data analytics will work closely with partner companies, gaining invaluable experience in data analysis, solution development, and addressing industry-specific challenges.
Strengthening Ties with the UK
The program is strategically designed to create opportunities for the next generation of financial services professionals while simultaneously strengthening international ties with the United Kingdom. This cross-border collaboration is set to enhance Jacksonville’s standing in the fintech arena.
Application Details and Program Timeline
Applications for the inaugural cohort of JAX Hub are currently open and will close on January 7. Selected companies will kick off pilot engagements with program partners in April 2026. For more information about the application process, you can visit the JAX Hub website.
Excitement from UNF Leadership
Dr. Albert Loh, interim dean of the Coggin College of Business, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting its significance for both students and the Jacksonville community. This initiative is poised to empower aspiring entrepreneurs and contribute to the local economy.
