Finai Summit: Exploring the Future of AI in Finance

The Finai Summit is set to take place over four days at the BBVA headquarters in Mexico, Colombia, Türkiye, and Spain. This event will delve into how artificial intelligence (AI) can be leveraged to manage financial risks, predict economic crises, and enhance hyper-personalized services. Discussions will also focus on developing and adopting AI responsibly and the impact of technology on creative endeavors.

Engaging the Public in AI Conversations

By making the event accessible to the public through registration at Finisummit.com, BBVA aims to ignite a broader dialogue on artificial intelligence, extending beyond specialized circles to involve society in shaping the future of intelligent services. “Artificial intelligence brings about rapid changes in the ways we think, work, and organize,” states Antonio Bravo, Global Data Manager at BBVA. “Our goal at the Finai Summit is to address essential questions regarding the role of AI in financial services and its wider implications for society. We are committed to ensuring that AI adoption is transparent and responsible, leaving no one behind.”

Expert Insights from Renowned Speakers

Each day of the summit will commence with keynote speeches from leading international experts. In Spain, Kai Firth-Butterfield, former Chief of Artificial Intelligence at the World Economic Forum and current CEO of Good Tech Advisory, will address the ethical development of AI. In Türkiye, Setaç Doğanay, a passionate advocate for responsible digital innovation, will tackle similar topics. Meanwhile, in Mexico and Colombia, renowned figures like Raphael Douady, a French mathematician and economist, and Sergio Álvarez-Teleña, an expert in AI and quantitative analysis for financial decision-making, will explore AI’s potential in managing financial risks amidst increasingly complex global markets. Additionally, Maya Ackerman, CEO and co-founder of Waveai, will discuss the intersection of AI and human creativity during the conference in Spain (View the full agenda).

Roundtable Discussions on AI’s Impact

Various guest speakers and BBVA experts will participate in roundtable discussions examining how AI can transform finance by anticipating crises and improving risk management. They will also investigate how AI can enhance, rather than replace, human creativity, discussing the importance of adhering to ethical standards and minimizing environmental impact. Furthermore, participants will deliberate on necessary safeguards to prevent cultural biases and the inappropriate use of AI-generated content.

Masterclasses for Practical Skills Development

Throughout the first three days, the Finai Summit will feature multiple masterclasses, designed to equip participants with practical skills. Attendees will learn how to enhance customer service through Generative Voice AI (Voicebots), transform data into clear and compelling visual narratives, and apply machine learning and large language models effectively within commercial settings.

Building on BBVA’s Datafest Success

The Finai Summit builds on the success of BBVA’s previous event, Datafest, which attracted over 5,500 data scientists, engineers, architects, and specialists to share insights and the latest advancements in the field. Now open to the broader public, the Finai Summit aims to serve as the premier forum on artificial intelligence in finance, providing clear answers to critical questions posed by this transformative technology.
