>>venture>>, Switzerland’s largest startup competition, has just concluded its highly anticipated 2024 awards ceremony, crowning the country’s most promising early-stage startups. Among the winners, CLIMADA Technologies AG took first place in the Finance & Insurance category.

Since its launch in 1997, the >>company>> The Startup Competition is a must-see event in the Swiss innovation landscape, supporting and celebrating startups for over 25 years.

Global Fast Track'24

Previous winners and participants have founded more than 1,500 companies and created more than 15,000 jobs in Switzerland, demonstrating the lasting impact of the competition on the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The 2024 edition of the competition offered over CHF 500,000 in cash prizes, as well as access to a vast network of mentors and investors. The competition is renowned not only for rewarding exceptional startups, but also for providing them with the essential support they need to thrive.

Winners also receive non-dilutive cash prizes, which provide crucial funding without requiring founders to give up equity. The top three in each vertical receive CHF 50,000, CHF 20,000 and CHF 10,000 respectively to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey.

<p>Founded by Sebastian Glink, Simone Thompson and their climate science advisor, Professor David N. Bresch, >>venture>> 2024 Finance & Insurance First Place Winner <a href=CLIMADA Technologies AG is a data-driven fintech focused on sustainability.

“CLIMADA Technologies specializes in comprehensive climate risk analysis, leveraging advanced data models and AI to deliver accurate and actionable insights,”

explained Sebastian.

Their platform offers a prospective analysis of customers’ exposed areas, covering acute and chronic risks.

CLIMADA Technologies’ event simulation platform is designed for the assessment of the socio-economic impact of weather and climate events. Using mathematical models, the platform compiles risk assessments, enabling businesses, authorities and other decision-makers to better prepare for increasing weather and climate risks.

A unique approach to climate risk

Their simulation models calculate risk assessments for various events such as cyclones, heat waves, droughts, floods and wildfires, both historically and probabilistically. This predictive technology, including AI, allows them to forecast the impacts of extreme weather events that have not yet occurred, but are physically plausible.
