Pakistani Startups Shine in Forbes Asia 100 to Watch 2025

Two emerging fintech startups from Pakistan, Halball and PostX, have gained recognition by securing spots in the esteemed Forbes Asia 100 to Watch 2025 list. This prestigious compilation highlights promising startups across the Asia-Pacific region that show great potential for impact and innovation.

Diverse Range of Startups on the List

The Forbes Asia 100 to Watch list features a unique array of startups, from groundbreaking healthcare innovations to AI-driven platforms. It serves as a critical indicator of the next wave of entrepreneurial growth and development across the region, presenting opportunities for investors and stakeholders alike.

Key Inclusions and Funding Landscape

This year’s list comprises 100 companies from 16 different countries and territories, showcasing a diverse mix of private organizations and entrepreneurial ventures. Leading the pack is India with 18 startups, closely followed by Singapore and Japan, each contributing 14 startups, while China boasts 9. Collectively, the featured startups have raised nearly $3 billion in funding, marking a dramatic increase of $2 billion compared to the previous year.

Meet Halball: A Leader in B2B Fintech Solutions

Among those recognized, Pakistan is represented by the two Karachi-based fintech companies, Halball and PostX. Founded in 2017, Halball specializes in Sharia-compliant B2B fintech solutions, addressing needs like digital billing, tax compliance, and working capital financing. The company has handled over $3 billion in transactions and recently secured an impressive $52 million in funding, combining $5 million in equity with a substantial $47 million investment from Meezan Bank.

PostX: Innovating E-Commerce Logistics

Founded in 2020, PostX differentiates itself by offering hybrid logistics and fintech services tailored specifically for the e-commerce sector. Their innovative solutions help enhance sellers’ cash flow with initial delivery payments. The company also expanded its reach in 2022 by acquiring Call Courier and successfully raised $7.3 million in a pre-series financing round to support its expansion into the Middle East.

Selective Criteria for Inclusion

The Forbes Asia 100 to Watch list maintains rigorous selection criteria. Eligible companies must operate within the Asia-Pacific region, with an annual turnover of less than $50 million. Startups showcasing less than $1 million in revenue or having total funding below $100 million also qualify, making the inclusion of Halball and PostX a significant achievement in the competitive fintech landscape.

The Rise of Pakistani Startups in Fintech

The inclusion of these two fintech players underscores the growing influence and importance of Pakistani startups in the global fintech ecosystem. As innovations continue to emerge, Pakistan is positioned to make a substantial impact on the financial technology sector, showcasing talent and creativity on a broader scale.

As we move forward, the performance and progress of Halball and PostX will be closely watched, reflecting the evolving entrepreneurial spirit and potential within the region. The Forbes Asia 100 to Watch 2025 list stands as a testament to the future possibilities and the exciting developments in the Asian startup landscape.
