THE MENA Fintech Association (MFTA), a non-profit organization supporting fintech innovation in the Middle East and Africa, is expanding its flagship Task Force on the Future of Finance to now encompass artificial intelligence (AI).
Following this decision, the MENA working group will be renamed “The Future of Finance and AI”, to reflect the impact that AI is already having on financial services, as well as the central role that AI AI will play a role in shaping the next generation of fintech innovations. .
The MFTA says AI is fundamentally changing the way financial institutions operate, provide services and manage risk. From automating decision-making processes to improving the customer experience, AI is quickly making its mark on the fintech industry across the world.
To lead this expanded direction, the MFTA has appointed Abdelali Zahi as co-chair of the Future of Finance and AI Working Group, alongside current co-chair Ronit Ghose Since Citi Bank.
Zahi is Head of EMEA AI for Financial Services and Telecom Companies at Oraclewith previous experience in leadership roles at Allianz Global Investors in Germany, where he led AI initiatives and developed critical investment and risk analysis platforms. He also served as CTO at one of the top 100 fortune technology companies in Switzerland.

With its latest expansion, the Future of Finance and AI Task Force plans to focus on:

- Share best practices and insights on AI adoption in the MENA region
- Enabling collaboration between fintechs, banks and technology providers to accelerate AI-driven innovation
