Banco Santander and Google launch free course on AI – FF News

Santander Bank and Google have reached an agreement to offer a free course on AI (artificial intelligence) to anyone over the age of 18 worldwide.

The course, Santander | Google: Artificial Intelligence and Productivityis launched today on the Santander Open Academy platform, available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. It offers an overview of the potential of AI at home and at work. This course aims to help participants increase their productivity, learn the basics and develop the skills needed to automate tasks, come up with ideas and solve problems more efficiently.

According to Rafael Hernández, global director of Santander Universities, “There is no doubt that AI is revolutionizing our daily lives, especially in the workplace and in the creation of new opportunities and roles. This course provides valuable tools to strengthen professional skills and generate greater competitiveness and seamless adaptation to current and future labor market demands.”

“We are very pleased to partner with Banco Santander to offer this free and open AI course to everyone, everywhere,” said Covadonga Soto, head of marketing for Spain and Portugal at Google. “This partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to leveling the playing field in AI education and equipping people with the skills they need to thrive in the digital age. We believe that only by making AI knowledge and skills accessible to all can we unlock new opportunities for personal and professional development.”

Course content
The course, offered by Banco Santander and Google, has been designed for everyone, regardless of experience. It is taught using simple and direct explanations to facilitate the understanding of the key concepts of AI and its growing influence on the world of work. Participants will acquire the following skills:

  • AI Basics: They will understand the basic principles of artificial intelligence and how it is transforming countless industries.
  • Practical AI Applications: They will learn how to use AI tools like Google’s Gemini to maximize their daily productivity.
  • Effective Commands: They will develop the ability to give clear and precise commands to get the most out of AI tools.

This course is a unique opportunity for professionals from all industries to learn about AI and gain the practical skills needed to harness its potential at work. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate attesting to their new skills.
