AI firm Perplexity has revealed a finance-focused platform in the works that would allow users to search financial information about companies, make comparisons and study past earnings data.
“Real-time stock quotes. Historical income reports. Comparisons with industry peers. Detailed analysis of company financial data. All with a nice user interface,” Perplexity posted on X, along with a video clip showing how the new offering would work.
The video clip showed how a user could search, for example, Nvidia’s financial information and see its profit history in the form of data visualizations. Apart from that, they can search for questions about the company and track its stock price trajectory.
Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas also welcomed the new offering and praised the “simply delightful” user interface (UI).
While the company’s offering appears to be moving toward a search engine-like model, Perplexity has faced allegations of plagiarism and copyright violations, soon after, it launched a revenue-sharing model for news publishers.
