Mangopay, a leading provider of modular payment infrastructure for platforms, has announced a significant leadership change with the appointment of Sergi Herrero as its new CEO.
This strategic decision is part of the company’s continued growth trajectory following its acquisition by Advent International in 2022.
Herrero, a seasoned fintech industry veteran, brings a wealth of experience to his new role at Mangopay. His impressive experience includes serving as Global Director of Payments and Commerce Partnerships at Meta, where he was instrumental in launching and expanding the company’s payments and commerce capabilities.
Herrero’s expertise also extends to senior roles at Square and BNP Paribas, as well as a role as co-CEO of global telecommunications giant VEON.
The new CEO succeeds Romain Mazeries, who led Mangopay for six years and was part of the company’s founding team. Mazeries will continue to contribute to the future of Mangopay as a member of the Board of Directors, ensuring a smooth transition and continued strategic input.
Xavier Garambois, Chairman of the Management Board of Mangopay, said he was confident in Herrero’s ability to lead the company into its next phase of development.
