SINGAPORE, November 7, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — At GFI’s Network and Partner Appreciation Evening, the Global Fintech Institute (GFI) launched the Chartered Fintech Associate (CFtA) certification and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Banking and Financial Services Union (BFSU), a trade union affiliated to the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) and the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) of the NTUC. The launch of the certification aims to meet the growing demand for foundational fintech learning and support professionals in improving their skills and advancing their careers in the finance and fintech sectors.












Supported by more than 100 industrial and academic partners, CFtA certification delivers market-relevant skills adapted to the evolving needs of financial services. With more than 500 training places for students and higher education professionals eligible to receive CFtA scholarships, this highlights the value of certification and the growing demand for fintech talent to strengthen that of Singapore financial sector. The partnership with NTUC will also support the development of a robust support system for SMEs in the evolving fintech landscape, encouraging more SMEs to join BFSU.

The CFtA is an entry-level certification that develops fundamental financial technology expertise and serves as a pathway to the advanced Chartered Fintech Professional (CFtP) certification. Developed with the contribution of more than 100 industrial and academic partners, it meets the demand for qualified talent to meet regulatory and technological challenges. Open globally to candidates with a GCE A-level certificate, polytechnic diploma or associate degree, the CFtA program covers essential fintech topics including digital payments, Web3, AI, sustainable finance and regulatory compliance.
