Damisa Secures £2.25 Million in Pre-Seed Funding
Damisa, a pioneering cross-border payment platform founded by Jordan Lawrence, has successfully raised £2.25 million in a pre-seed funding round. The platform is designed to simplify international transactions across various sectors including logistics, real estate, travel, and education.
Innovative Approach to Cross-Border Transactions
Specializing in the intricacies of cross-border payments, Damisa aims to streamline financial operations for businesses operating on a global scale. By leveraging intelligent portfolios and ensuring the integration of main stablecoins, the platform offers enhanced speed and security for its users.
Founders with a Vision
Jordan Lawrence, known for co-founding the Open Banking Payments Fintech Volt, which is valued at $350 million, launched Damisa earlier this year. Joining him are Maximilian Marenbach, a former director at Kraken, and a leading figure from the former Panos Chief of Innovation in Fintech. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the new venture.
Commitment to Transparency and Efficiency
Lawrence emphasized the platform’s mission, stating, “Damisa will significantly simplify cross-border payments while providing greater transparency for companies in complex and emerging markets.” This focus on clarity and efficiency may help businesses navigate the challenging landscape of international finance.
Funding to Drive Growth and Development
The recent funding will enable Damisa to expand its operations, enhance its product offerings, and secure necessary regulatory licenses. So far, the company has obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license in Poland and is in the final stages of acquiring an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL).
Support from Notable Investors
Fuel Ventures, a London-based venture capital firm that previously backed Volt, is the lead investor in Damisa’s funding round. Mark Pearson, Director Partner at Fuel Ventures, expressed enthusiasm about working with Lawrence again, noting the team’s regulatory expertise and industry understanding.
Future Prospects for Damisa
Pearson remarked, “Damisa is poised to fundamentally transform international payments.” Alongside funding from Eworks, Greyhound Capital, and angel investor Mark Ransford, Damisa is well-equipped to pursue its ambitious growth plans in the fast-evolving cross-border payment landscape.
