Between September 2 and 7, 2024, no fewer than 23 startups from various sectors raised more than $235 million in funding from investors.
These sectors include D2C, Watertech, Sportstech, Ride-hailing, B2B, Fintech, Aviation, Healthcare, Traveltech and Cleantech.
Last week, Indian startups raised more than $485 million in fundingwith the Quick Commerce unicorn Zepto Raises $340 Million alone.
Unlike mergers and acquisitions, which typically do not disclose financial data, these funding rounds provide insight into sectors that are attracting growing investor interest.
High value-added offers
A wide range of sectors attracted investment during the week, with the ride-hailing sector leading the way. Fastwhich raised $200 million in funding. Proptech startup JUSTO Realfintech raised $7 million through a mix of debt and equity.
The list was followed by sports nutrition retailer D2C NutrabayBackpacker hostel chain The Innkeeperand chemical recycling and sustainability startup RecommerceX, which collectively raised $12.6 million.
Nutrabay raised $5 million, The Hosteller raised $4 million, and RecommerceX raised $3.6 million.
Emerging startups
AI Startup LiaPlus AI raised the smallest amount, securing $230,000 in a seed funding round. It was followed by clothing startup Slikkwhich raised $300,000 in a pre-seed funding round, and a B2B financial management startup Valyxwhich raised $800,000 in a pre-seed funding round.
Mytek Innovationsan AI-powered EPC and manufacturing marketplace, raised $710,000 in debt, while sports tech startup Spolto received $1 million in a seed funding round.
Water technology startup Boson Whitewater and fitness startup TruNativ The two companies raised $1.2 million in funding from Zerodha’s fashion startup Rainmatter. Theater Closely following, raising $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round, are fabless semiconductor design startup BigEndian Semiconductors and ed-fintech startup Invest4Edu Both have raised $3 million in seed funding rounds, while the healthcare startup Global Care also secured $3 million in a Series A funding round.
Meanwhile, children’s underwear brand D2C Plan BFleet management services startup Carrum, Cleantech startup ReCircle, Social networking platform 0xPPLXolopak India and Nautical Wings Aerospace have kept funding figures secret.
Mergers and Acquisitions Highlights
360 ONE-backed hearing care provider Hearzap has acquired a majority stake in Speech and Hearing Care Pvt. Ltd., a renowned player in Bihar and Jharkhand regions.
Yatra Online has acquired corporate travel specialist Globe All India Services (Globe Travels) for over $15 million.
