UR and Ant Group’s TopNod Launch Co-branded Mastercard for Cryptocurrency Users
Composable infrastructure provider UR has partnered with TopNod, an innovative non-custodial wallet developed by Ant Group, to introduce a co-branded Mastercard tailored for TopNod’s user base. This collaboration, which leverages Ant Group’s extensive fintech ecosystem along with UR’s versatile technology platform, seeks to facilitate compliant and widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies in everyday transactions.
Enabling Seamless Conversion Between Digital Assets and Fiat Currency
Utilizing UR’s integrated technology, TopNod users can easily convert on-chain yields from real-world assets (RWA) and various digital holdings into spendable fiat currencies such as USD, EUR, CHF, and JPY. This advancement symbolizes a significant bridge between the digital and traditional financial landscapes, enhancing user experience.
Key features of this partnership include:
- Global payment capabilities through a co-branded Mastercard issued by SR Saphirstein AG, regulated by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).
- Support for direct conversion of more than 20 digital assets, including leading cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH, SOL, and MNT.
- Effortless on- and off-ramp services for TopNod users situated in supported jurisdictions.
- Zero-fee, 1:1 conversions between USDC and USD, enhancing transaction efficiency.
Because UR’s modular stack is integrated directly into TopNod’s infrastructure, users can manage their accounts, cards, and financial features seamlessly within the TopNod app, improving accessibility and convenience.
Self-Custody and Trustless Flexibility
A critical aspect of this partnership is its commitment to preserving self-custody for users. Thanks to UR’s sophisticated financial infrastructure, everyday spending is made simple through direct settlements executed via smart contracts. This structure removes the necessity for intermediary custody, effectively reducing costs while ensuring that transactions remain transparent, verifiable, and immutable on the blockchain.
Ng Ying Zhong, Chief Product Officer at UR, underscored the necessity of harmonizing innovation with security in this evolving landscape. “As digital asset adoption continues to grow and access to digital assets becomes increasingly robust, UR offers a secure, compliant way to participate in the next phase of financial innovation,” Ng stated. “We are delighted to provide TopNod users with easy access to modular account and payment functionalities while enabling them to maintain full custody of their funds.”
TopNod CEO Jacky Zhu pointed out the transition away from traditional, opaque financial structures. “Modern capital demands efficiency and transparency, not opaque intermediaries,” Zhu remarked. “With UR’s transparent infrastructure integrated into our platform, users can own an on-chain account under their name, allowing them to transfer assets to peers or spend directly using their Mastercard. This represents true trustless flexibility for the digital era.”
