Non -profit organizations are often focused on laser in their mission – whether it be to feed hungry, finance scholarships or preserve cultural monuments. But behind the scenes, the financial side of the management of these organizations can be a waste. This is where the Fintech startup based in Miami Crowded come.
After identifying a large gap in non-profit financial management, the co-founder and CEO of Crowded, Daniel Grunstein, decided to do something. “There were a lot about how to get money and not much about how to manage the money you have collected,” he said Initiate of Business.
This idea turned into a rapidly growing business. Crowed, who helps non -profit organizations to follow expenses, file funds and generate tax forms, announced today that she had raised a series of $ 7.5 million per turn. The investment was led by Flashpoint based in London, with additional support Florida Opportunity FundWilson’s Bird Capital, Sarona Ventures and the garage.
This last round covers the total funding of the company to $ 13.5 million.
The startup, which has 35 institutional customers – including Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Harvard Athletics – is preparing a niche in a space that has been historically neglected by Innovation Fintech.
“We really want to double what worked for us, namely that the approach of sales in the field in person,” said Grunstein, explaining that fresh capital will be used to extend the sales and marketing efforts of the startup .
The history of Grunstein at JP Morgan gave him a first -hand exhibition to financial obstacles to non -profit organizations. He worked as an analyst in Fintech & Enterprise Software from 2018 to 2021, looking for emerging technological trends such as blockchain and space computer science, screening for fintech solutions and product management for a blockchain initiative. His experience by analyzing financial systems gave him a unique overview of how non -profit organizations could benefit from better financial tools.
Its co-founder, Darryl Gecelter, brought another crucial advantage: deep connections in the higher education space. Before embarking on the world, he worked at Graduway, a networking startup of alumni who later merged with Gravyty, a fundraising platform. Thanks to the experience of GECCELTER, Crowded was able to attract clubs and college fraternities as early adopters.
Crowded intervenes to offer a digital solution first at a time when many organizations need it most. And they are not alone – other startups, such as Givefront from the Cohort of Completator Winter 2024, also try to modernize non -profit financial management. But with growing clientele and a new capital, crowded aims to position itself as a leader in a sector expected for a long time for a Fintech revolution.
