The convergence between artificial intelligence (AI) and asset tokenization is expected to redefine the global financial landscape in 2025, according to Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise. This major transformation is expected to particularly benefit small businesses, paving the way for a new “long-tail capital market”.
Tokenization that democratizes access to financial markets
On January 5, Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley revealed his vision for a major transformation of financial markets on the X platform. tokenization represents much more than a simple democratization of access to traditional financial products: it opens the way to a real revolution.
Its transformative potential lies in its ability to enable small businesses, historically excluded from capital markets, to finally access the financing they need.
Edwin Mata, CEO of Brickken, anticipates tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) as the future central pillar of the crypto ecosystem in 2025. Blockchain will enable investors to digitize and trade traditional assets such as real estate, debt and stocks, creating new investment opportunities.
The movement is already gaining ground among large companies, with the emergence of the “Bitcoin Standard” as a new cash management standard. MicroStrategy is a pioneer of this revolution, with an impressive portfolio of 446,400 bitcoins, valued at $43.7 billion. This adoption by institutions is expected to intensify in 2025, bringing the entire cryptocurrency market with it.
AI as a catalyst for a new tokenized economy
Artificial intelligence plays a catalytic role in this transformation. Horsley predicted an explosion of AI-driven niche companies, which, although too small for a traditional stock exchange listing, will be able to access markets via tokenization. This democratization will create a new “long tail” capital market, significantly expanding the horizon of investment opportunities.
This transformation is taking place in a particularly favorable political environment in the United States. The anticipated arrival of the Trump administration could indeed relax the rules governing mergers and acquisitions of large companies.
Paradoxically, according to Horsley, this increased concentration of economic power could boost the adoption of cryptocurrencies, thereby reinforcing the fundamental principle of financial decentralization.
In conclusion, 2025 promises to be a pivotal year where the alliance of AI and tokenization could fundamentally redefine the architecture of financial markets, creating a more inclusive and dynamic ecosystem for entrepreneurs and investors.
