HUB2a financial technology company targeting French-speaking regions, has secured €8 million (US$8.4 million) in its Series A funding to fuel its regional expansion.

TLcom Capital led the Series A financing round, with participation from the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank FMO, Enza CapitalFrench public investment bank BPI France, AXIEN, DCG,African Fintech Collective,

Eric Barbier, andENL Corporate Ventures.

Founded in 2019 by Ashley Gaüzère and co-led by Jean-Rémi Kouchakji since 2023, HUB2 provides digital businesses with a unified API that enables efficient processing of domestic and international payments via mobile money, bank transfers, card transactions and cryptocurrencies.

HUB2 ensures broad reach and seamless integration between various payment methods by partnering with leading mobile money providers in the region, including

“After two decades in telecommunications, I recognized the demand for reliable and interoperable payment solutions across Africa. HUB2 was developed to fill this gap, establishing an infrastructure that the industry can rely on,” said Gaüzère.

“With this investment, HUB2 is poised to strengthen our presence in French-speaking regions and expand strategically across Africa. The involvement of a diverse group of global investors underlines our commitment to expanding across the continent,” explained Gaüzère.

“We are delighted to partner with HUB2 as it expands its presence across French-speaking Africa. The company’s success in the region, combined with TLcom’s expertise in English-speaking markets, forms a strong alliance that will improve the accessibility of digital payments across the continent. We have full confidence in the vision and leadership of HUB2 co-founders, Ashley and Jean-Rémi, to establish the next payments leader in French-speaking Africa,” said Eloho Omame, Partner at TLcom Capital.

HUB2 currently operates in six French-speaking African countries: Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo and Cameroon. Over the next 24 months, the company plans to expand its presence throughout the region, from Senegal to Madagascar.
